One More Business Risk of COVID-19

6/29/20: Companies are already pressed to manage what appear to be the most urgent risks posed by COVID-19 but, according to an article published on SupplyChainDive, an underappreciated risk is canceled supplier audits.  Author Guyoton explains a new challenge presented “…as ongoing travel restrictions and quarantines are requiring many companies to cancel on-site supplier audits, inhibiting progress and increasing risk exposure.” 

Certainly, the need for supplier management has not disappeared under under COVID-19.  Guyoton’s Op-Ed suggests digital assessments as a more rational alternative.
