The authors, Scott Rabe and Samuel Svendloc, focus on the risks in the workplace where, “… information and behavior that could be counted on to remain within the confines of the workplace now has the potential to become very public very quickly, with some pretty hefty consequences.” Fortunately, they then go on to describe a social media policy that won’t completely eliminate all risk but can help to minimize them. Social media, electronic devices and jokesters aren’t going anywhere but the described policy is specific, offering practical steps that companies can take.
