Add Human Trafficking to Supply Chain Risks

4/4/16: The terms alone are horrific: human trafficking, child slavery, forced labor, sex trafficking.  Unfortunately, those terms aren’t just human and social problems -- for global companies, trafficking can be as close as their own organizations or supply chains.  According to the International Labor Organization, some 21 million people around the world are enslaved or forced to work, sometimes in the supply chains that feed our most respected companies.  With new laws and increased scrutiny aimed at the issue, companies need to take active steps to ensure that they aren’t relying on trafficked, forced labor.  The FCPA blog features a good post by Julie DiMauro about keeping trafficking and forced labor out of your supply chain.
