Discrimination or Misuse of Confidential Information?


1/14/19: It’s an odd reach to link gender discrimination with the misuse of confidential company information but that’s what is alleged in a lawsuit brought by a former acting general counsel and chief compliance officer against her former employer.  That former employer is Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings America Inc.

 According to the plaintiff in the lawsuit, the company passed her over for promotion to the permanent position in favor of a younger, less- experienced and less-qualified male attorney.  The arguments and counter-arguments in the case run the gamut from illegal termination to retaliation and misuse of confidential information in the court filings.
