5/16/16: A paper by Genpact and published on the Compliance Week website begins with a straightforward title, “Anti-Corruption: It Isn’t Just Legal’s Job.” The authors make a solid case about where companies should be putting their corruption prevention and anti-corruption compliance efforts, writing “… the key to prevention is not to hire more lawyers but to put the focus where it should be – on everyday process operations.” The paper provides an approach that integrates multiple business functions into a cohesive enterprise-wide endeavor that includes training, monitoring and periodic auditing. A very brief introduction is printed on the Compliance Week website but there is a link (requires registration) to the full paper.
