4/29/15: The US Department of Justice recently announced that its Asset Forfeiture Program has returned more than $4 billion in civilly and criminally forfeited funds to crime victims since fiscal year 2002. Some $723 million has been paid to over 150,000 crime victims in the last three years alone. Now, $4 billion is...real money, but more interesting are the cases that produced such returns. DOJ helps with that by listing some of its most noteworthy cases and, most important, the laws that were violated and led to the enforcement actions.
