"The Supply Chain Isn't Just a Quality Issue"

8/4/15: Managing a company’s supply chain often falls most heavily on the quality department. An article by Sonal Sunha in Quality Digest should give compliance professionals a heads-up about the quality function, outsourcing and their potential risk to regulatory compliance under multiple anti-corruption laws. She makes...a number of points but one should flash brightly for CCOs. Sunha references a recent survey by MetricStream showing that 91% of respondents say their organizations have adopted “… some form of supplier governance and supplier management process to ensure supplier compliance under the FCPA.”  Good news, right? Not so fast. Sunha continues, “Of concern, however, only 5 percent of the respondents reported that the integration of supply chain risk management systems was in line with their organization’s overall business strategy and corporate governance.”
