Langevoort (Georgetown University Law Center) provides interesting insight into the topic of behavioral ethics and behavioral compliance.  At first glance, the 29-page paper might seem best suited for academics and attorneys. Not so. The paper gives...valuable and practical information about the how, why, where and when of cheating, both small and reaching to the heights of white-collar crime. It’s worth reading by any compliance practitioner to understand how employees perceive their own behaviors and how that links to corporate compliance programs. For specific focus on the way in which compliance communications play into the mix, head straight for pages 14-16.  Don’t stop there. Better understanding of employee motivation and what you can do about tapping into that motivation for better compliance is worth the read.
