It’s hard to keep track of Facebook’s legal troubles with a number of US and non-US enforcement agencies.  Looking just at the DOJ and FTC, Facebook just reached apex status when it agreed to pay the largest civil penalty in a US data privacy case...

The cost of that agreement with the DOJ and FTC?  Five billion dollars.  But Facebook’s US settlements don’t stop there.  The company also agreed to pay $100 Million to the SEC for misleading investors about the risks it faced from misuse of user data.
